It
1938 meters in the Kumaon Hill, this attractive hill station was once
the summer capital
of Uttar pradesh. Nanital is very much green and pleasant and land that
immediately appealed to the homesick people.
Naini
Lake: This attractive lake is said to
be one of the emerald green eyes of Siva's wife, sati.
Naini Devi temple is by the northern end of the lake. You can rent
boats and row in the lake.
St
john's church: It was built in
1847,soon after the British arrived. This church contains the Brass
memorial to the victims of landslide.
Snow
View: It is at 2270 meters a chairlift
takes you . the lift opens at 10 ma to 4. pm. It is a pleasant walk down
past the Tibetan gompa.
Hanumangargh
& observatory: There are good views and spectacular sunset over the
plains from this Hanuman temples, three Km south of Talital. Just
over 1 Km further on is the state Observatory.
